OYO, Nigeria – Beneath the Nationwide Mass Metering Program, the Ibadan Electrical energy Distribution Firm (IBEDC) started the distribution of 104,000 free meters in Ibadan, Oyo State on Wednesday.
Launched by President Muhammadu Buhari final August, the Program goals to distribute six million meters throughout the nation, in an effort to spice up the nationwide metering price and eliminate arbitrary estimated billing. A million meters have been distributed as a part of the primary rollout.
“We’re right here to launch the Nationwide Mass Metering for the Federal Authorities. These are free meters, so prospects will not be paying for it. The essence is to discourage estimated billing that plenty of prospects have been complaining about,” stated Ayo Adio, Head of Buyer Assist, IBEDC. “We imagine that inside a couple of weeks, a lot of the prospects which might be designated for meters may have them put in of their premises.”
The metering initiative supplies mortgage facility to each disco and native meter producers – in flip, offering a precious alternative for Nigerian producers – to make sure that shoppers will not pay for meters, and that those that have already got will likely be refunded.
Distribution of meters occurred in Ikolaba, Agodi and Bodija, amongst different areas in Ibadan.
