GERMANY – Real Madrid and David Alaba have reached an agreement over on a four-year contract, according to Marca.
Alaba will earn €11 million per year at the Santiago Bernabeu.
It is understood he has already passed his medical and will arrive on a free transfer this upcoming summer.
Madrid boss, Zinedine Zidane, felt the player’s versatility – as he can feature at centre back, left-back, and centre defensive midfield – coupled with his experience and overall quality was too good an opportunity to pass on in a COVID impacted market.
Alaba will be 29-years-old when he arrives at the club.
Given how highly Real Madrid have valued the Austrian, it’s likely that he comes in and slots straight into the starting XI, potentially at the expense of Ferland Mendy. His arrival could have a domino affect — will Militao and Nacho opt to stay at the club? If Alaba slots in at left back, will Reguilon’s buy-back clause ever be triggered?
