ABIA, Nigeria – The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, has reacted to the demise of an ex-Imo and Lagos States Military Administrator, Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu, Rtd.
The Speaker described the death of Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu (Rtd), as a huge loss to Abia State in particular and Nigeria in general.
The number one lawmaker in Abia State lamented that Admiral Kanu departed at a time his wealth of experience and counsel as an accomplished soldier and a seasoned administrator was needed most in both Abia State and Nigeria.
The Speaker, in his condolence message, prayed God to grant his gentle soul eternal rest and avail his family and all Nigerians, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
OgeneAfrican reported that retired Rear Admiral, Ndubuisi Kanu, 78, passed away on Wednesday in a hospital after a brief illness.
In the same development, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and former GMD Diamond Bank Plc, Dr. Alex Otti is saddened over the demise of a former military governor of Lagos and old Imo states, Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Rtd.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Ferdinand Ekeoma, on Friday, Otti disclosed that the death came to him as a shock because the late statesman spoke with him a few days before the end of 2020, and regretted that death took the retired military chief when the nation needed to tap more from his wealth of experience as a nationalist and an accomplished senior Nigerian military officer.
He described Late Kanu as a thoroughbred soldier and consistent fighter for equity, justice and fairness, who dedicated his last days to work for the restructuring of the country.
Otti condoled the deceased’s wife, Chief Mrs Gladys Ndubuisi Kanu, the entire family and the people of Isuikwuato on the passage of the Rear Admiral, praying for the repose of his soul.
