LAGOS, Nigeria – The incident of October 20 in Nigeria remains one of the saddest things to ever occur on the continent.
While young Nigerians were peacefully protesting against police brutality and calling for End SARS and everything that comes after it at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos, officers of the Nigerian security forces allegedly opened fire on them.
There were reports of people dying from gunshot wounds and several getting injured.
However, Nigerian forces called the incident fake news saying that their officers did not open fire at protestors at the toll gate.
At worst, what they admit to is that they find blank bullets into the sky as warning shorts and they never aimed at protestors.
This is different from the initial report from the Nigerian Army who said their officers were not even present at the location where the shooting took place.
This invesitigative report from CNN punches holes into the story being told by Nigerian officials and purports to show evidence of Nigerian security officers firing at peaceful protesters.
