ABUJA, Nigeria – The Personal Assistant on New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmaad, has advised residents of Lagos not to embark on another protest.
Last month, the End SARS protests took place around the country and culminated in the shooting of peaceful demonstrators at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos.
There have been speculation that people could hit the streets again and the Lagos Police Command has already warned against it.
Ahmaad, writing on his Twitter page on Saturday, said: “Personal opinion, the good people of Lagos should not accept/welcome any protest in the State (under any guise).
“Many enemies of the State had taken advantage of the recent ‘harmless’ protest to carry out their cruelties.
“Best thing to do, help the State get healed first. #Peace!”
