ABIA, Nigeria – Abia North Stakeholders’ Assembly has reacted to the statement credited to Chief Chikwe Udensi over the underdelopement in the state.
Udensi alleged to have stated that Abia state is underdeveloped because Abia godfathers are feeding fat from the state resources.
The Assembly in a press released signed and made available to OgeneAfrican by it’s Publicity Secretary, Chief Sunday Chukwu said that Chief Chikwe Udensi’s statement is largely untrue and a divisive one only aimed at causing disaffection between the people and the government.
The press release reads:
The statement credited to Chief Chikwe Udensi that Abia state is underdeveloped because Abia godfathers are feeding fat from the state resources is largely untrue and a divisive one only aimed at causing disaffection between the people and the government.
We wouldn’t have bothered to dignify him with a response, but for the general public all of whom may not be aware of the truth, that is why we are responding to his tissues of lies concocted to break the love the people have for the state governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.
In his statement, he cited the statements of Prince Eze chikamnayo and Obinna Oriaku, the former Commissioner of Finance in the state as testimony to his false and unfounded claims. These characters he mentioned are well known to Abians as double-faced individuals who have never stood fame to defend any statement they made in the morning at dawn. They are persons who speak from both sides of their mouths. That said, we are not surprised because “birds of a feather flock together” as the saying goes.
Chikwe Udensi is a man of questionable character. Any wonder Chikwe Udensi mentioned Eze Chikamnayo and Obinna Oriaku or statements said to have emanated from them as valid and substantial base of his case against the state government?
It is on record that Udensi illegally diverted N5.5 billion from Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON share of the Paris Club bailout fund. The looting of ALGON funds by Udensi and his associates in crime have continued unabated to date. They jointly embezzled funds and proceeds from so many projects/joint ventures accruing to ALGON claiming to be running the association.
Udensi has been subjecting Mrs Dinma Udensi his wife of many years to domestic abuse. The innocent lady receives major beating to the extent of almost disfiguring her. Udensi is a violent abuser, arrogant and almost heartless.
It is an insult on Abians for a character like Udensi who batters his wife to come out in the open to say he wants to be Abia state governor. If he is looking for money to embezzle, Abia state is not available for him to embezzle their resources like he did while with ALGON neither is Abia available for battering and domestic violence as he subjects his wife.
We therefore call on Abians to disregard the unfounded statement by Udensi and stand firmly behind the governor who is posed to take the state to greater heights.
