ENGLAND – Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has warned Liverpool that next season’s Premier League title challenge will be different.
Guardiola issued the warning following Man City’s Premier League 4-0 win against Liverpool on Thursday night at the Etihad Stadium.
Guardiola’s men defeated Jurgen Klopp’s side following goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (OG).
“We won against the champions, and they were focused on beating us,” Guardiola said as quoted by Evening Standard after the game.
“I saw their faces, they did not come here to celebrate, if not they would drink enough beers, but they came here to compete.
“Next season will be different, but we have to show we can do it.
“The gap with Liverpool is more than 20 points, that is the difference. Twenty-five, two seasons ago, now 20 for them. That’s the reality. We were not consistent, and we need to recover the consistency from previous seasons and take points wherever.”
