“A delegation of the Nigerian Army led by the Brigade commander has visited the family to commiserate with them and will be fully involved in the burial”, Musa added.

It is unclear why the Army withheld the senior officer’s name.

However, findings revealed the identity of the officer. He is Brigadier General Wama B. Idris.

On June 23, he handed over to civilians kidnapped by bandits in Musa LGA in Katsina to Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mustapha Inuwa.

Idris was represented by Major Olabode Adedayo.

He said the six victims were freed after a gun duel with the abductors at a forest between Danmusa and Safana.

Our findings also show that Idris took over as 17 Brigade Commander from Brigadier General Aminu Bande on September 10, 2019.
