But, Ohanaeze, in a terse statement by its spokesman, Chuks Ibegbu, on Monday, warned those who are trying to create problem where there is none to desist for with.

It commended the governor’s Forum for the integrated regional South East Development Initiative which is being put in place in the areas of economic development security and other sub sets of human development.

The group, which was visibly angry with some media men for misquoting her on the relationship between the South East Governors and the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, noted that the relationship has been cordial and bipolar.

Ohanaeze reiterated its position of the North ceding Nigeria Presidency to the Southern part of the country and insisted that it’s the turn of Ndigbo to produce the next President of Nigeria after President Muhammadu Buhari come 2023.

It said, “We discuss with them and they discuss with us. The funding of Ohanaeze may not have been as robust as expected but we are interfacing with
them as our political leaders. Some overzealous media people over hype
issues and create controversy where there is none.

“We wonder where the reporters gathered their information that some South East Governors are not cooperating with the body. This issue was simply exaggerated”.
