Prince Harry to have a meeting with the queen, Prince Charles and Prince William

ENGLAND – Prince Harry will have a meeting with the queen, Prince Charles and Prince William on Monday to find “workable solutions” to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s big announcement last week.

In a statement on Wednesday, Harry and Meghan announced they’d be stepping back as “senior members of the royal family” and intend on becoming “financially independent”.

Channel 24 later revealed the news was not so much a shock for the royal family, but the timing of it was. With that, Buckingham Palace released what seemed to be an emergency statement at the time. They said, in short, “Discussions with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage. We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through.”

Queen Elizabeth calls Prince Harry for crisis meeting

Now, according to multiple reports, Prince Harry is set to sit down with Queen Elizabeth as well as Prince William and Prince Charles, who flew back from Oman for the meeting. Meghan has returned to Canada for the time being but is expected to video call to join in on discussions.

During the ITV documentary special, Harry & Meghan: A Royal Crisis? that aired over the weekend, royal reporter and close friend of Prince Harry, Tom Bradby, commented on the upcoming meeting. “What have you got to achieve in a sensible agreement? You got to give them the freedom they want, you got to give them the role they want in the royal family if they still want a role, you got to make sure that British taxpayers don’t feel cheated.”

Speaking about their future in the royal family he added, “One of the questions to which I don’t know the answer is, are they at the point where they just write off Britain? I’ve got to tell you, my hunch is, no, I don’t think they are.”

He said, specifically of Harry, “He loves this country, and he believes in the monarchy, and even now it’s possible to construct something where, maybe the half-in half-out model does work, but it’s going to require a lot of careful thought and imagination.”
