Europa League: Emery speaks on his future, Arsenal’s 2-1 loss to Frankfurt

ENGLAND – Arsenal boss, Unai Emery has spoken on his future at the club after their 2-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday.

The Spaniard’s future at the club is becoming even more doubtful after yet another dismal display which stretches Arsenal’s winless run to seven games.

The Gunners took the lead against Frankfurt through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the stroke of half time but failed to hold their lead; a situation that has become too familiar for Emery.

“I think we improved some things to make sure we could take the three points but we lost all our work in 15 minutes,” Emery told post match press conference.

“The first thing to recover confidence is to win.

“This is the first match we lost at home.

“I am thinking about the next match and how we can improve.

“If we play like in the first half, that is the way.”

“We are better than we are showing.

“The response from the players in the first half was good but the injuries was important because we needed fresh players and we couldn’t do that.

“We need to win playing well and we did that in the second half.

“They scored two goals and then we couldn’t take our chances but we are still first and we are going to ensure that position in the next game.

“We controlled the first half. We were happy for how we took the performance as a team but we lost control in the second half.

“We changed players through injuries and we couldn’t change players offensively.”
