JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – Saving lives is a tough job.
So how safe are you in the hands of first responders?
The West Rand District Municipality and Mogale City put this to the test through a simulation exercise.
Emergency response teams were put through their paces to see how well equipped they were to handle some extreme situations.
While the injuries in this simulation exercise might have been fake, their capabilities were certainly real.
“The overall object is to look at the weak areas so we can improve on them,” said Mogale City mayor Patrick Lipudi.
Despite some shortcomings, officials gave the rescue teams the thumbs up.
Future exercises are on the cards to ensure your life is in the best hands in any emergency.
